I am a qualified and insured massage therapist currently registered with the Complementary Therapists Association. I have an ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Massage and Anatomy and Physiology, a City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage and currently studying a degree course in Physiotherapy as a mature student at York St Johns University.
At present I am practicing at Holistic Touch on Clarence Street and can offer appointments on: Every Saturday 9 - 5 pm

Deep Tissue
This type of massage uses a strong pressure to address problems in the deeper layers of the muscles. It is recommended for people who have a particular musculoskeletal complaint, chronic tension which may be causing tension headaches or those who just prefer and massage with a deeper pressure.
Sports Massage
This is a combination of skills and knowledge designed to assist in the treatment and prevention of injury for atheletes or indeed anyone who has a high impact excercise programme. It can be used for general maintainence of muscles preventing the build up of tight muscles, to identify weak spots or imbalances that could lead to injury. It can also be used to assist in the recovery from injury by breaking down scar tissue and adhesions, releasing tension in muscles that may give rise to a secondary problems etc.
Holistic/Swedish Massage
This type of masssage is excellent for those who want to relax and ease away the stress and tension held in the mind and body. It is a relativley light- medium pressure massage which addresses tension in the superficial layers of muscles. It improves blood and lymph circulation throughout the body, stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system and therefore can relieve feelings of anxiety and promote feelings of well being.
