Hays Social Care has for Support Worker jobs to work with Adults with Learning Disabilities or Mental health.

As a Support Worker you will require a minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or similar care related subject, plus Moving and Handling, First Aid and Food Hygiene training. Some Adult Protection training would be preferable although is not essential. You should also have a proven ability of working with service users with challenging behaviour.

The residents you will work with need support workers to help with everyday tasks such as cleaning and cooking, pursuing their hobbies and socialising in the wider community. Thanks to your patience, care and understanding, you can help them learn and practice these skills, raising their self-esteem and enabling them to enjoy a more independent lifestyle.

This is an ideal opportunity for a dedicated care worker to help people with special needs achieve their full potential and for the right candidates may well lead to a permanent position. Shift work is available both days and nights. Own transport preferable not essential.
