UMBILICAL CORD BLOOD BANKING

The Department of Sociology at the University of York is conducting focus group interviews with members of the public about issues associated with banking umbilical cord blood for stem cells. The purpose of this research is to explore changing views about blood, donation and stem cell banking.

The focus groups are likely to consist of approximately 6 people and last approximately 2 hours. Each group will meet twice in a room at the Kings Manor, York. A payment of £15pp will be given for attendance at each focus group for inconvenience and travel expenses (£30pp for attendance at both sessions).

Can you help?
We wish to conduct four focus groups with various groups of people:
- Parents
- Expectant parents
- People who self-identify as belonging to an ethnic minority
- Childless people of a fertile age
