The position is reporting to head chef Paul who is a likeable 30ish year old with passions for his cooking, fishing & gardening(that makes him sound sad but he is a good bloke!)His partner Alison is resturant supervisor and she is great. As owners we run the hotel as a friendly family run business, which is what it is and it just happens to be in one of the most beautiful areas of England.The hotel has 20 bedrooms, a bar, bistro & restaurant set in a market town on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors about 30 miles north of York. The applicant must be able to prepare & cook dishes from fresh local produce, our style is modern English and our menus include some British classic dishes aswell as more modern innovative ones. We are open 7 days a week 52 weeks a year & have a good mix of locals, corporate & tourist customers to our hotel. The applicant would work 5 days over 7 on a rota basis. We are a great bunch of folk to work with and there is a genuine family atmosphere where we all work together to achieve what is a happy and contented working enviroment. We had a Kiwi working in the bar from last October until February and she was a real asset she also lived in the hotel so if accommodation is a problem living in can be arranged. Although ideally we would like a permanent team member we would also consider the right applicant if he or she wanted a temporary contract rather than a permanent one.
