North Yorkshire Managing Quantity Surveyor required with Civils, Rail & Property Experience. Duties will include advising the Commercial Manager on resource requirements to ensure that suitable candidates are appointed to the commercial team, in a timely manner. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with established procurement strategies. Ensure that all estimates and target costs are prepared in accordance with company guidelines and are submitted for management review timely, accurately and consistently to suit the requirements of the framework and as directed by the Commercial Manager. Ensure all sub-contracts are let on formally documented commercial terms and achieve the best value for money. Ensure adherence to the established Change Control procedure. Ensure the timely issue of information required to support applications for payment. Ensure supply chain payments are certified in a correct manner and in accordance with the company's payment timetable. Ensure the company's compliance with the Housing Grants Construction Regeneration Act in respect of supply chain payments. Support Project Quantity Surveyors in compiling monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) to required standards and in accordance with company timetable. Analyse data CVRs and advise the Commercial Manager of any adverse trends or risks. Attend monthly commercial reviews to present CVRs. Ensure that feedback on sub-contractor performance is communicated to the Commercial Manager. Ensure the timely submission and agreement of project final accounts. Effectively manage the people within the team. Maximise margin. Build good client relationships and ensure effective client communication
Essential Skills
R elevant experience in a construction environment. Some experience of railway infrastructure projects. Contractor background. Commercially astute. Professionally qualified (MRICS or MCIOB). Experience on similar framework projects. Negotiating skills. Knowledge of Network Rail forms of contract. Sufficient confidence to present information to management.
Salary & benefits will settle around £ 48000.00 + Benefits.
The Managing Quantity Surveyor reports to the Commercial Manager and is responsible for leading a team of approximately 4 Quantity Surveyors / Assistants in providing commercial support to the development and delivery teams within the clients Property Framework Contract. Such support includes estimating, target cost pricing, contract administration, risk management and project controls. The Managing Quantity Surveyor provides support to the Commercial Manager and manages his / her commercial team to ensure recovery of planned margin in accordance with set targets. Portfolio of projects within the framework contract turning over up to £10 million p.a
