David Eden WT-600 Roadrunner hybrid bass amplifier. A really serious bit of kit, a boutique, US hand-made bass amp. Just over 5 years old, immaculate condition and complete with flight case. When new, it cost me nearly £1500.
Valve preamp with built in optical compressor, and sophisticated 'enhance' control, which cuts lower mids as it boosts higher mids and lows. Incredible EQ circuit - bass and treble boost and cut controls, as well as 3 semi-parametric frequency bands - amazingly flexible for any musical situation. 300W a side at 4ohms, or 600W bridged mono at 8ohms. Master section has a limiter for each side, to protect connected speakers. Bi-amp capable when running in stereo; either run left and right channels, or high and low, and control the crossover frequency and balance from the front panel. It also has a DI out with level control, 2 effects loops (1 mono, pre EQ, 1 stereo, post EQ) and a tuner out.
This truly is an incredible piece of equipment, with an absolutely sublime tone.
Not to be confused with the mediocre amps that Eden produce nowadays; this was built before they were bought out by the cost-cutting American Music Corporation, and has since been discontinued; anything you buy from them now has a digital power amp, and doesn't even have a valve in the preamp, just a chip that's meant to sound like a valve. Seriously, they don't even come close to this. The Roadrunner is completely hand-built in the USA, nowadays everything is Far Eastern made and then assembled in their US factory.
This is a very high grade of professional bass amplification, and will be for decades to come. I really will be sad to see it go, but alas, it must.
