Is your instrument not living up to its potential? Do you need a set up? Repair? Modification?
Like getting a tune up for your car, a set up for your instrument should be done regularly and will make a huge improvement to its sound and playablility. If you've never had your guitar set up then you probably need one! Buzzing frets, scratchy electronics, tuning problems, constant string breakage, intermittent sound issues - all of these things and more can be fixed with just a normal set up. A full set up includes adjustments of the neck and bridge i.e. truss rod, string action, intonation, etc. as well as cleaning and polishing of frets, fingerboard TLC, and a new set of strings. And I can certainly get rid of those sharp fret ends for you if needed.
If something else is faulty with your instrument - maybe a broken nut, worn saddles, dodgy pickups, lifting bridge, etc - then why not have the faulty bits repaired or replaced? I can fully or partially re-fret your neck and even sort out a broken neck and repair or replace it.
Want something special done to your instrument? New pickups or different hardware? This is one of my favourite things to do! Everything from humbucker coil tapping and other electronic modifications to hardware upgrades of all kinds.
I prefer to work primarily on electric guitars and basses but can also do acoustic guitar repairs if needed. I do not do full guitar finishes, at best I can refinish a part of the instrument that has been damaged and match it to the original finish. I've been in this business since 1996 and have done repairs and modifications for many many clients, including several platinum selling artists, both on tour and in my shop.
