We are recruiting for a trainee business consultant to work at our head office in sheffield.

Activities of the role:

• To oversee and project manage the development of written responses to competitive tender opportunities on behalf of public funders of employability and skills provision of market relevance to esg. This ordinarily would include overall responsibility for tenders for contracts with a value of £2 million or less.

• To actively support Senior Development Consultants and Business Development Consultants in contributing to written responses to competitive tender opportunities of greater strategic and financial value than £2 million, working to their guidance and instruction.

• To achieve set and agreed performance targets for the volume and financial value of tenders won by esg, both individually and as part of a team. Such targets will be representative and reflective of the seniority of the role.

• To maintain effective relationships with all Senior Development Consultants, Business Development Consultants and other esg functions, both inside and outside the Business Development Directorate, to support the common aim of securing new and retained business for esg.

• To provide additional activity, where applicable, in any aspect of business development where this may support the achievement of successful tender outcomes. This may include, although not be limited to, representing esg at industry events, engaging in partnership building activity (including sourcing and selecting delivery partners), financial modelling and contract implementation.

• To maintain an informed understanding of policy developments within the employability and skills sector, with particular emphasis on impending tender opportunities, to ensure that esg’s submissions accurately reflect and address policy intent.

• To undertake duties in line with all current esg policies and procedures, both job specific and those with general pertinence to all staff roles, with personal responsibility for keeping up to date with any revisions to such policies and procedures.

• Undertake other duties and responsibilities in the service of the company as directed by the line manager
