Volunteers wanted to form a York Fundraising Committee

Hello

Over the next 30 months or so I will be fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK www.bowelcanceruk.org.uk and have set myself a huge fundraising target of 100k. This may seem a target to high to some but I am convinced that it is achievable. However, even with the best will in the world, organising fundraising events aimed at helping me reach that sum is proving extremely time-consuming and I am having to put off ideas until a later date due to lack of time.

Ideally I would be pursuing several ideas at the same time, thereby increasing fundraising potential and allowing the successful events to run more than once, say again in 2010 and then 2011. This is not possible however, mainly due to the sheer size of some of the events I have planned.

To that end I am looking to set up a “fundraising committee” so that ideas can be generated and passed around for consideration and then put in to action. I am not asking for huge amounts of time from would-be committee members, just willing volunteers who are either looking to develop skills which could be added to their cv, wish to utilise some of their past experience or would simply like to get involved in something a bit different and do something positive for the community and BCUK.
Your age or experience is irrelevant, all I am asking for is a positive attitude, the desire to make a difference and putting on events for the people of York and surrounding areas to enjoy.

If you would like to find out more please email me at davej180979@daveoneverest.com .

Many Thanks
Dave
