ASSISTANT PORTABLE APPLIANCE TEST TECHNICIANS REQUIRED
PART-TIME WORK - VACATION & TERM TIME
Job: To carrying out the testing of portable electrical appliances with other technicians, at various schools and colleges , in North Yorkshire and surrounding area.

• Full in-house training provided
• The successful candidates will also be required, after an initial induction period, to complete a one day City & Guilds 2377 course in Portable Appliance Testing, at the company’s expense.
• All successful candidates will be appointed subject to a satisfactory Enhanced CRB check.

Candidate Skills, Resources, & Availability-Essential

• Successful candidates will need to demonstrate a:-
o Mature and responsible work ethic
o Good practical and organisational skills
o Effective inter-personal and communications skills
• Be a car owner and possess a clean full driving licence
• Preferably have at least 2 years left on their university course
o Be available up to 2 days per week during each semester
o Be available up to 5 days per week during each vacation period
• Have access to a broadband internet connection ,computer/laptop, and possess reasonable computer skills
• Overseas students will be required to provide documentation to show that they have a UK student/work permit and any other required documentation.

Candidate Skills- Advantageous

• Knowledge of appliance testing, or other technical background/expertise
• This job is particular suitable for full time students

Terms & Conditions

• Hours by arrangement, start and end times can vary due to individual job requirements
• £6.25 per hour, rising to £7.00 per hour on achieving C&G2377 qualification
• Business mileage paid at £0.20 per mile plus other agreed out of pocket expenses.
