You may be eligible to participate in a contact lens research study.You will be asked to visit an eye care Specialist in York for a free eye exam to determine if you are eligible to participate. If you are eligible, you will be asked to wear contact lenses for 1 week, at least 5 days per week, at least 8 hours a day. You will be asked to return to the optician at the end of the study for another eye exam as well as to participate in a brief telephone survey 2-4 weeks after the study concludes. The optician may schedule up to 2 more visits for the dispensing of the lenses, or for more insertion and removal training, but only if he thinks it is absolutely necessary.
You will receive £18 per visit to cover your expenses. In addition, you will be paid £9 in cash for participation in a telephone survey 2-4 weeks after completion of the study.
