To ensure that the service provided by the company exceeds the requirements of the National Minimum Standards for Domiciliary Care published in accordance with the Care Standards Act 2000.
To ensure that the emotional, spiritual, physical, medical and material needs of the Service Users are recognized, assessed and met.
To contribute to the assessment of need of each Service User in conjunction with the Service User, relevant professional agencies and, where appropriate, the Service Users family, and develop a Service User Care Plan which provides a satisfactory quality of life for that person.
To ensure that each new Service User is provided with a service user guide and details about the company, and if self-funding with a written contract prior to the commencement of the service.
To ensure the care plan for each Service User specifies their exact needs and that the service provided meets the assessed needs of the Service User.
To ensure a complete health and safety evaluation of each Service Users premises is carried out in relation to the care being provided, including risk assessments covering moving and handling and medication.
To assign the correct carers to the Service Users to ensure that the assessed needs and care to be provided are carried out by personnel who are trained and competent to deal with the specific needs of the Service User
To keep all relevant policy documentation appertaining to Service Users and carers on the company premises and Service User homes for inspection.
To fully understand the company complaints procedure and to monitor and deal with all complaints in a professional manner. Where appropriate refer to the General Manager / Office Manager.
To ensure the Universal Medication Policy is adhered to
To ensure all relevant policy documentation appertaining to Service Users and carers is kept on the company premises in accordance with the data protection regulations and is ready for CSCI inspection
To maintain a thorough understanding of the care standards, CQC regulations and social services policies and procedures and ensure you always aware of any changes.
To work with the General Manager / Office Manager to ensure that all relevant regulations (CQC, GSCC etc) and laws relating to the provision of domiciliary care is complied with.
Staff Matters
To manage and motivate the Care Coordinators and Supervisors on a daily basis.
To oversee the supervision of all care staff and to ensure the correct level and quality of service is maintained.
To carry out regular appraisal of the Care Coordinators and Supervisors and to oversee the appraisal of the Community Home Care Workers
To work with the HR Manager to recruit and select staff who are suitable.
To identify and coordinate training for Home Care Workers, Care Coordinators and Supervisors.
To carry out regular staff meetings with the Home Care Workers, Care Coordinators and Supervisors
To ensure that the equal opportunities policy of the company is implemented and monitored correctly.
To work with the General Manager/Office Manager to source and attain additional work.
To ensure Supervisors attend Service User reviews, where possible.
To ensure supervisors perform client welfare visits are carried out.
To attend management meetings
To attend external meetings
To have a flexible approach and show willingness and ability to undertake any tasks that may be required in order for the business objectives to be achieved.
