1961 edition hardback, very good condition, no dustjacket.

This volume is one of many in the Victoria County History series, an encyclopaedic record of England's places and people from earliest times to the present day. The VCH was founded in 1899 and originally dedicated to Queen Victoria. Most volumes relate to English counties but York was the only city to have a volume dedicated to it.
