Our new range of bags start at £19.99 up o £49.99 and will be on sale at "The Big Green Market" in Parliament street in York from November 4th -7th, or come and enquire down at our regular stall on Newgate Market every Thursday and Saturday.

Our business has been working in the rescue of Peruvian ancestral techniques and returning to the use of natural materials. It is friendly to the environment and maintains a healthy working atmosphere.
We work with groups of indigenous women from underprivileged areas of Peru that are often victims of family violence and hardship, but despite their sometimes tragic situations they work through their problems and show their creative capacity to produce beautiful and unique pieces of art.
Through the assistance of technical training these women are empowered with technical abilities and productiveness and create the possibility of showing their competency for a better working environment and create a better future for themselves and their children.
Our goal is to be able to provide our treasures to businesses and individuals that demand these beautiful creations and to emphasise an ecological component.
To summarise; we offer a variety of handmade accessories such as handbags, belts, necklaces, earrings and bracelets. All of these are made from natural materials and are created in local environments without the use of chemicals and machinery.

Products:

The mixing of colours and textures is essential in producing these pieces of art. The contrasts and evolution of existing materials and the confluence of tradition and popular art of a country make our products memorable and timeless. In a geographic space so inspiring as Peru and the combination of its rich culture and people, they bring together an important element for our designs and creations.

Handbags:

Inca Treasure presents its "Sierra Chic handbag collection 2009" that are full of colour and hand embroidery and are inspired by Andean designs which are transformed into adorable modern and practical pieces.
The highland wool of the Andes and natural local indigenous plant extracts, transforms these handbags into a variety of different shapes and sizes, all with colourful hand embroidered flowers. The decoration of these products responds to the necessity to appreciate the natural aspect of life against the stressful rhythm of work in our busy culture.

About Peruvian Jewellery...

Peruvian jewellery is hand crafted by indigenous artisans. There are no "sweatshops" in Peru and none of our goods are produced in factories with machines.
The wire used to make these wonderful creations is called Alpaca Silver. Alpaca Silver is an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc. This alloy has properties similar to stainless steel, in that is does not rust or tarnish.
All the intricate wire work is made by hand, jigs or special tools.
All our stone jewellery is handmade with semi-precious stones such as black onyx/obsidian, blue sodalite, brown tiger eye, turquoise, rose quartz and serpentine.
